Poster and literacy contest: "Celebrating Canada 150"
July, 2'017.- The "POSTER AND LITERACY CONTESTS" HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2017. The closing date has been changed in order to include participants’ submissions from the summer camps and community celebrations.
Kiddo Magazine continues celebrating its 10th anniversary with its readers. Our "Poster and Literacy Contests", aims to promote “Canada 150” by inspiring children to express themselves and their love for Canada through art and writing. We invite all the communities that are part of the beautiful multicultural mosaic that is our country, Canada, to participate and have the opportunity to win wonderful prizes!
Poster Contest – Colour or Black & White
Contestants are challenged to exercise their creativity and submit a poster on the theme of “Celebrating Canada 150” in either colour or black and white. The poster will be judged by a special committee in the categories of Junior (Ages 6 to 11 years old) and Intermediate (Ages 12 to 14 years old).
Literacy Contest – Essays and Poems
Contestants are challenged to exercise their creativity and write an essay and/or poem on the theme of “Celebrating Canada 150”. Candidates will submit a composition in prose. The essays and poems will be judged by a special committee in the categories of Junior (Ages 6 to 11 years old) and Intermediate (Ages 12 to 14 years old). Entries may be submitted in English, French or Spanish.
Each competition will have three jurors. Kiddo Magazine will recognize with a prize the top three entries in each category. First place winners will be included in our printed magazine.
